A Frame Off Restoration

Cab Closure is Ready to Install

Cab Closure is ready to install
We reassembled the cab closure and now it is ready to install.

Fitting Doors

Fitting the doors on
Started fitting the doors on the jeep in preparation for the putting the Cab Closure back on. New bolts will be cut and painted. We're waiting for the glass to be cut for the sides and rear windows.

Foam Insulation & Plasti Dip

Plasti Dib Foam Insulation
We put the foam insulation on the top. The Camo Plasti Dip really helped firm up the foam and made it a lot more durable.

Painting the Top

Painting Forest Green on the Cab Closure
After applying an adhesion promoter and aluminum primer it was time to put the Forest Green top coat on each part of the Cab Closure.

Cab Closure Paint Prep

Cab Closure in Pieces
We took the Cab Closure apart in four pieces. The two sides, back and top. This will make it easier for prepping and painting. Some of the screws and bolts gave a pretty good fight, but eventually we got the all out.

Phase II Restore

With the easy part behind us it' was time to start restoring or replacing parts. This took the longest time because each piece had to be cleaned, inspected, refurbished or replaced. It was fun to learn about each component and gratifying to see each part repaired and ready to install.
